Mercedes Prieto is part of the scientific staff of Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias and a permanent teacher at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain). She is a specialist on Extragalactic Astronomy, and our main collaborator in developing semi-analytical models of galaxy evolution. Mercedes has recently spent two days working with us.

Jesús Gallego (SOC member), Pablo G. Pérez-González, Jaime Izquierdo and Jaime Zamorano enjoyed both science and beach at Martinique during the "When the Universe formed stars" meeting in Pointe du Bout (Martinique, France). They gave two talks and showed two posters of their work on the evolution of Star Forming Galaxies.
