Star-forming galaxies
Star formation rate density at z=0.24
The research project about the star formation rate density of the Universe at z=0.24 was born as a natural extention of the UCM survey
Cosmological surveys
GUAIX astronomers belong to several international research projects. Here is a summary of the most relevant ones. Please visit the oficial pages of each of them to obtain all the information.
Local star-forming galaxies
To study in detail nearby galaxies, i.e. those belonging to the local Universe, is a mandatory first step necessary to understand the results obtained when we observe galaxies at great distances. Our group works to make some light in different topics which are listed bellow. Please, follow the links to complete the information.
Hα Galaxy Survey confirms results from UCM Survey
James, Knapen et al have just submitted arXiv:0802.4421 a work to Astronomy & Astrophysics. These authors have been working on Star Formation in the local universe using the results from observation of 863 galaxies with z<0.01. Up to 327 galaxies were observed in Hα.
