Astronomy in Central America
Jaime Zamorano attended the XI CURCAA to give some seminars. People from all countries of Central America, including students and teachers interested in Astronomy, gathered at Managua during the XI Curso Centroamericano de Astronomíay Astrofísica (XI CURCAA) en Managua. Teachers from Mexico, USA, Argentina and España, some of them IAU representatives, gave seminars. The course was hold at the campus of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua with a very good organisation.
It is worth mencioning the institutional effort to bring teachers from all Nicaragua to attend the course. The pictures show the people near the newly university observatory and some other snapshots during the course.
Prof. Zamorano spent another week at Observatorio Astronómico Centroamericano of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (OACS/UNAH) to work on the Central America Master Degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics and to meet with the Master students.
