Participation in ADASS'11
The Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems (ADASS) conference has been held this year in Paris. GUAIX has been represented in this conference with the participation of Nicolás Cardiel.
He has presented one poster entitled TESELA: a new Virtual Observatory tool to determine blank fields. This work, developed in collaboration with F.M. Jiménez-Esteban, J.M. Alacid, E. Solano and M. Aberasturi (from the Centro de Astrobiología, INTA-CSIC), describes the method followed by their authors to generate the largest blank field catalogues available for astronomical observations to date. The catalogues are accessible through the Virtual Observatory, with the help of the interface TESELA.
A full description of this work has been recently published as Cardiel et al. (2011) in Montly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
